Update: Belmont Little League All Stars Keep on Rolling

Belmont Redwood Shores Little League 11/12 year old all-star team defeated Mission San Jose today the Sectional 3 tournament in San Lorenzo.

BRSLL 11/12 Year Old All-Star Team Continue Undefeated in Sectional 3 Tournament Belmont Redwood Shores (BRS) Little League 11/12 Year Old All-Star team mercy ruled Mission San Jose today in game 2 of Sectionals, shutting down the game 11-1 in just 4 innings.

BRS was just warming up in the 1st inning when Mission San Jose scored 1 run in the top of the first. In the bottom of the first, Nicolas Lopez hit a single followed by back-to-back out of the park homeruns by Brad Shimabuku and Sean Lee, ending the 1st inning 4-1. 

In the top of the second inning, Shimabuku was on the mound throwing heat with his all-star team behind him and together they knocked out the first 3 batters, 1-2-3. In the bottom of the second Noah Marcelo smashed the ball out of the park for a 2 RBI homerun, shutting down the inning, 6-1. 

Third inning flew by with 4 batters up and down on both sides with no runs scored, 6-1. 

In the top of the fourth, Shimabuku stayed hot on the mound with his all-star team behind him and together BRS took out the first 3 batters, 1-2-3.   In the bottom of the fourth, Lopez and Lee hit back-to-back out of the park 2 RBI homeruns each, advancing the lead, now 10-1. With 2 outs on the board a calm filled the stadium, as Jake Stulbarg stepped up to the plate crushing a double followed by Taylor Douglis who delivered a line drive into center field for the winning RBI, ending the game with a 10-run rule in the fourth inning, 11-1.    

This was once again a total team winning effort as BRS continues their undefeated all-star track record advancing into their next game on Tuesday night in San Lorenzo facing the winner of the Monday night game. Hope to see you there! --------------------------------------------

Belmont Redwood Shores (BRS) Little League 11/12 All-Star team won the District 52 title and rested only 48 hours before they advanced into the Sectional 3 tournament taking place in San Lorenzo. 

BRS faced strong opponent San Ramon in thier first Sectional game today, winning 11-6. BRS were visitors and in the top of the first inning delivered Doubles by Dominic Susa ad Sean Lee and a base hit by Taylor Douglis for a total of 4 RBIs. In the bottom of the first, Nicolas Lopez was throwing heat from the mound with the with San Ramon scoring 2 runs, ending the inning 4-2.

Second inning was a slow start for BRS with no runs scored. San Ramon had their bats going slong with crazy noise from the dugout, driving in 3 RBIs, ending the inning 4-5. In the top of the 3r, Jake Stulbarg scored a Double, Susa and Daniel Friiis, singles and RBI king Marcelo rocks it out of the park for 3 RBIs, ending the top of the 3rd, 9-5. Brad Shimabuku tool the mound with Josh Fong catching and a short bottom of the inning with 3 up and 3 down, ending the inning 9-5.

Fourth and fifth innings were light action with only 1 run scored by San Ramon, as the teams headed into the sixth inning, 9-6. In the top of the 6th, the RBI king Marcelo does it again, launching it out of the park for a 2 RBI homerun, ending the top of the 6th, 11-6. The pressure is on as Susa takes the mound and with his BRS team behind him, shut down the game for the win in batters, ending the game, 11-6.

A big thanks to the BRS coaching staff, Manager Rudy Lopez and coaches Peter Anderson and Kevin Lee and to all of the family and friends that came out to cheer the teams on. BRS plays game 2 Sunday at 11am.
