Belmont Child Sex Offender Finally Faces Courtroom

Joshua Kenneth Bringazi serially victimizes underage girls.

What is expected to be a week-long trial concerning child sexual abuse allegations finally re-started on Monday after being on hold since last August.

Joshua Kenneth Bringazi of Belmont was arrested in late 2010 after being accused of having sex with a drunken 15-year-old girl.

According to San Mateo County District Attorney's Office notes, Bringazi, 25, was the roommate of a man whose friends from Oregon (including the victim) came to visit.

Bringazi "pressured the victim to have beer during a drinking game and took her into his room and had sex with her. [Bringazi] kicked the victim and her sister out of his apartment the next day because the victim refused to engage in further sex acts with him," according to the DA's Office.

At the time of the alleged incident, Bringazi was already on parole for multiple child sexual abuse convictions.

His trial initially started in August of 2012 but his attorney abruptly backed out of the case on day three, causing the nine-month delay in court proceedings.

Bringazi has been in custody since that time, being held on $100,000 bail.
