Update: AT&T Phone/Internet Service Should Return by Tuesday

Water damage from recent storms has AT&T repair crews out at several Belmont locations; service should return by Tuesday evening.

A City of Belmont public works engineer went to the site today where AT&T crews have been working for several days to inquire about phone service interruption to numerous Belmont residents in several neighborhoods.

AT&T crews have been working on phone lines near the corner of Ralston Avenue and Cipriani Boulevard since Saturday. Customers in the neighborhood off Cipriani Boulevard have been without phone/internet service since then.

Customers trying to reach AT&T to inquire about the service interruption have become frustrated with the lack of communication from the communications utility.

"First, it's not easy to find out, the number the website says to dial 611, goes eventually to a closed office. And much mouse clicking gives you a message, but no detail," one customer told Belmont Patch in an email.

According to the city engineer, AT&T is continuing its emergency repair work at the intersection of Ralston Avenue and Cipriani Boulevard and also on Hallmark and Davis drives.

The city engineer was told by AT&T that emergency repair work is necessary because of water damage to existing facilities. The water damage is due to the recent storm.  AT&T said they will be working through the night and are hoping to finish by Tuesday evening.
