SunEdison Honored for Sustainability Efforts

The new Belmont solar energy company recently received AT&T's Supplier Sustainability Award.

 

, which opened its new corporate headquarters on Clipper Drive in Belmont last October, was recently recognized by AT&T for its contributions to the communication company's national solar initiative. 

At an event at AT&T's Dallas headquarters last month, SunEdison, a global provider of solar-energy services, received the Sustainability Award in the alternative energy category.

According to a news release provided by AT&T, SunEdison excelled in designing custom solar systems for rooftops, ground mount, and parking canopies to best utilize the solar potential of each AT&T site. 

In addition to activating a new rooftop solar power installation in San Diego, AT&T has contracts with SunEdison to deploy five additional solar power installations around the state.

“AT&T suppliers earning this Sustainability Award have demonstrated praiseworthy initiative and innovation in the area of sustainability. They have delivered solid improvements that have helped support AT&T’s sustainability efforts for the year,” said Tim Harden, president of AT&T Supply Chain and Fleet Operations.
