Readers' Choice: Belmont's Best Sushi

Which restaurant serves your favorite roll?

(Editor's Note: The voting is now closed. Look for the announcement of the winner at noon today.)

Which restaurant serves up the best sushi in Belmont? Patch wants you to tell us all about it in this week's "Patch Readers' Choice" survey.

You have until Friday at 9 a.m. to tell us what you think about your favorite sushi restaurant by voting for it in the poll, leaving a comment about it after this story or leaving a review in our directory (or all three!). Patch will announce the winner on Friday.

Please choose among the following restaurants:

And even if you travel beyond Belmont's borders for that perfect chirashi, hamachi or spider roll, that's okay---simply go to that city's Patch site and tell us there.

Because this poll is not scientific, the poll is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and your comments and reviews. So please vote only once per survey, per Patch site.

LOVE Sushi Monster and it's my 6 year olds favorite restaurant! They have a variety of rolls that can't be found anywhere around here. Kid-friendly which makes it a huge plus...they serve plain udon (no veggies, just broth and noodles) which is a fav of my kids, with a bowl of ice to cool it off and have rolls that my kids always order (favorite is the daniel roll)! The waitresses are extra friendly! Our favorites are Ramen, Jalapeno Bomb, Belmont Roll to name a few! Yumm!! :)

Sushi Monster is our go-to place for sushi in Belmont. Huge menu, fun sushi rolls, reasonable prices, big glasses of wine, kid-friendly, pleasant service, well located...and they have a great name!

I love Sushi Monster! Haven't been since I was the Belmont editor, but I used to go there all the time.

Sushi monster is awesome. We have been going there since they opened and they have the best customer service of any restaurant that we have ever gone to. We feel guilty if we eat anywhere else. The owners have watched our daughter grow up and they are so good to her. Ask for the Mike hand roll, you wont be sorry....but be warned it has nuts

Thanks Joan - there is one in the sub-head of the blog I posted on School-Force Voices today; wouldRead More love if it could be corrected. Been scratching my head til I saw this post :)

Sorry about that! There's nothing I can do on my end----it's system-wide bug, which I believe isRead More fixed now. :)

I also preferred the 'old' Patch - this format makes it difficult to find articles that are aren'tRead More that old. One example was the informative article on who was running for city Council. I was having problems finding it and finally had to query on a candidate's name to find. I don't recall having that issue with the original format. Also our neighborhood had a water break line and we were without water for some hours a few Sundays ago. I tried to find out the reason for the break (because of construction or old pipes?) and could not find anything on the Patch regarding this. Not sure if they just didn't report or I just couldn't find.

Not crazy about the new Patch either. Also, I want to post-for sale, and this section is crowdedRead More with announcements, etc.

Another thing that needs to be fixed: When you go to leave a comment, it takes you over to whereRead More you have to sign in, you sign in expecting to be returned to the article on which you are commenting, but it, instead, takes you back to some different article. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!! Also, please reinstate the feature where we can sign up to be notified if/when more comments are made concerning the article(s) we've commented on so we can follow the conversation. Thank you.

what do the local Belmont restaurants think of this? do these people pay a license to the city?
Joan S. Dentler (Editor) June 4, 2013 at 07:15 am
Hi Don....thanks for your question. Yes, Off the Grid does pay a licensing fee to the city, and soRead More far, we haven't heard any concerns by local restaurants. The food trucks provide an option to a traditional restaurant---pick up and go----and they are only around 4-5 hours per week (on Mondays, typically not a big restaurant night anyway). Have you tried the food yet?
