NBC Will Host Redwood City Olympic Event

The event, taking place in Courthouse Square, will feature celebrity appearances and a live telecast.

NBC Bay Area will host an event Friday evening featuring live entertainment, a telecast, and a ceremony honoring Bay Area Olympians.

The ceremony will be led by Stanford grad Anne Cribbs, an Olympic swimmer and Executive Director of the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee. British Consul General Priya Guha will also participate in the ceremony.

Later in the evening, attendees will enjoy live music from the Blues band Red White and Blues and from the Anthony Paule Blues Band.

A live telecast will be featured on a big screen television.

The event is free and open to members of the public.

According to Redwood City spokesperson Lucas Wilder, restaurants in around Courthouse Square will be open as usual.

In addition, event sponsor Leapset provides a dining option for the event using an iPhone app that allows people to order food from one of a dozen downtown Redwood City restaurants.
