Who remembers when that building was Faye's Louisiana Barbecue? Bubba Paris did commercials for it--killer BBQ.

Not sure what I'd want to see here, but the burning question for me is: What's up with Ausiello's?
George Metropulos September 06, 2012 at 12:35 AM
Tim--not to worry. Eddie McGraw (long time owner), just changed the name. Also with this new name change comes a full service bar, beer, wine AND hard liquor, which they didn't offer previously.

Ah....Ausiello's---thanks for the reminder Tim. I stopped in a few weeks ago when I saw the McGraw's sign out front. It's still the same place, under same ownership for the past 19 years---Joan McGraw. Joan and her husband decided it was time to name the place after themselves and apply for a full liquor license, which they now have. Thanks for the reminder---I need to do a story on that!

Anyone want to meet for lunch at McGraw's and help me write the story?? Lunch is on me (but not the beer!)

A good BBQ place would be great. There isn't any good BBQ within 20 miles of Belmont.

Good point Howard---BBQ is sorely missing around here (if you ask my husband, there's no decent BBQ west of Memphis! (Although Emergency BBQ in SC is pretty good.)

I enjoyed Macks BBQ at the south end of Laurel in San Carlos -it gets many good reviews also.

Buckhorn Grill. There is one in SF in the food court at Westfield Shopping Center, Walnut Creek and Emeryville. They make excellent tri-tip sandwiches, salads, roadhouse fries and onion rings. Check it out.... http://www.buckhorngrill.com/

Steve - we tried Macks a few months ago but didn't really care for it. We used to like Lil' Biscuit but then they closed suddenly.

Very good news, George and Joan! This town is in extremely short supply of places where you can get a real drink. Best of luck to the McGraws.
