George Burgess Named President of Belmont Chamber of Commerce

Burgess relieves two-term president Lenore Griffin.

George Burgess was named the president of the Belmont Chamber of Commerce on Thursday night, succeeding two-term president Lenore Griffin in the post.

Burgess, founder of Burlingame-based , will serve the next three-year term as the president of the board of directors through July 2014.

Lenore Griffin of the Carlmont Shopping Center, Pam Clarke of Merry Moppet Pre School and Belmont Oaks Academy, and Bhakta Thapa of Motel 6 were appointed as vice presidents.

In addition, Mary Morrissey Parden of Farmers Insurance has been appointed treasurer and Davina Hurt of the Law Practice of Davina Hurt was appointed secretary.

The other board members are Maureen Freschet of Notre Dame de Namur University; Michael Kazarian of Beau Monde; Gin Nikloff of Beli Deli; Robert Olsen of Pettinelli Financial Partners; Adele Della Santina of Coldwell Banker; and Lisa Soutter of Oracle USA Inc.

Tom Diridon of Carlmont Associates and James McGovern of McGovern Insurance have been appointed emeritus directors.
