Cheers For Charity- School Force

Devil’s Canyon Brewery “Cheers! for Charity” Program

We have always had amazing support from our community and have always tried to give back as much as we could to local schools, charities and noble causes.

We open our doors once a month to the public so we can meet our fans, hear their ideas, blush from their praise and ponder their criticisms. As the brewery continues to grow so does the number of fans that show up for Beer Friday.  It can get crowded, what to do?

After much head scratching, night sweating and spreadsheet manipulating the only solution we could come up with that was viable was to raise our prices at Beer Friday. But it’s not about the money – it’s about crowd control. So how do we message that? How do we maintain our hometown philosophy but still present our fans with a great family and friends night out without looking greedy or aloof?

Well . . . You up the Karma ante. So we introduced a new program: Cheers! for Charity.

Since the April 2011 Beer Friday, $1.00 from each pint sold at the brewery started going to a (preferably local) charitable organization or non-profit group of our choosing.

This month’s donations will be going to:
School-Force!

School-Force, the Belmont-Redwood Shores Public Schools Foundation, raises money for teachers and programs to ensure an exceptional education for the children of the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. In addition, we are dedicated to raising community awareness of key issues faced by our district, and what we can do as a community to ensure that all of our children receive a quality public education.

School-Force, the Belmont-Redwood Shores Education Foundation, helps fund district-approved programs and personnel that have the potential to impact all students at some point in their primary school education. For example, all students in 4th and 5th grade have science specialists, all students have the choice to participate in upper grade instrumental music, all students eventually go to Ralston, where they all have access to a counselor and dean.

Your School-Force donation funds quality educational programs at both the elementary school and middle school level, impacting all schools in the Belmont-Redwood Shores public school district. School-Force funds are providing an increasingly important role in the district’s overall budget and School-Force supported programs have a profound impact on all of our students.

We serve the seven schools in the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District: Central, Cipriani, Fox, Nesbit, Redwood Shores, and Sandpiper Elementary Schools, and Ralston Middle School
