Reminder - 1st BRSSD Candidate Forum this Monday

The first of three BRSSD School Board Candidate Forums of this election season will take place 7 pm at Nesbit Elementary School this Monday - Sept. 23rd.

This is the first time in many years that the BRSSD School Board has had a real contested election. There are seven enthusiastic candidates running.

The district faces many challenges in the near future: on-going budget challenges, new state funding formula, student population growth, boundaries, multiple new school principals, parcel tax, common core implementation, union negotiations, etc.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to get out and hear from the candidates. Should you read their campaign literature? Of course. Should you see who is endorsing which candidates? Sure. Should you see who has the most lawn signs? Maybe. Should you get out and actually hear the candidates answer questions and present their positions? I think so.

All community members are welcome. Our schools are a community resource to educate our kids - paid for with our tax dollars. They belong to all of us.

Sponsored by the Redwood Shores Community Association and the Belmont/Redwood Shores PTA Council.
