New City Website in the Works

What would you like to see in the city's new website? Tell us in the comment section below.

In November the Belmont City Council approved moving forward with the redesign/update of the city’s website.

According to Belmont City Manager Greg Scoles in his weekly newsletter, city staff has been working with the consulting firm of Vision Internet to collaboratively develop the criteria for the design of the new website.

Last August, Belmont Patch asked readers what they would like to see in a new website. Some of the suggestions included improved navigation of the site, more event listings, and easier access to various departments. To read the comments, click here.

A city council subcommittee of Mayor Christine Wozniak and Councilmember Coralin Feierbach has provided input to the design along with the city’s website committee. Scoles says that based on this feedback Vision Internet’s design team will be adding graphics, color and images to a homepage layout and in late July or early August Vision Internet will be providing design alternatives for review and feedback.

"We are looking forward to a website that better serves the public’s need to connect to their government for the services they expect," said Scoles.
