Bluegrass On Broadway Festival Stomps Into Redwood City Tonight

The seventh annual Bluegrass On Broadway Festival will have Redwood City on its feet this weekend, starting with an evening show at Little India Friday night, followed by a daylong concert Saturday and the nation's only Bluegrass film fest on Sunday. In addition, bluegrass bands will be playing each evening in local venues. All events are free. 

Bluegrass music is family-friendly, acoustic music played on banjos, guitars, mandolins, fiddles, Dobros, and acoustic bass fiddles, and features heart-felt harmonies. The festival will bring Northern California's best bluegrass bands and musicians to Redwood City, and is a great way to get to know this original American art form.

10am: Special Film Presentation: Peter Feldmann: 50 Years In The Bluegrass, Blue Dalmatian Productions (CA). PERSONAL APPEARANCE by Peter Feldmann.

11am: Bean Creek (Santa Cruz)

Noon: Dark Hollow (San Francisco)

1pm: Snap Jackson & The Knock On Wood Players (Stockton) 

2pm: Blaine Sprouse & Peter Feldmann (Los Olivos) 

2:30pm: A. J. Lee & Tommy Mizzone (Tracy) 

3-5pm: Northern California Bluegrass Awards, With Performances By: Regina Bartlett, Bean Creek, Peter Feldmann, Avram & Dana Frankel, Steve Palazzo,and Yoseff Tucker.

Sunday, January 26

Sunday will be devoted to new documentary films about bluegrass music with the NCBS International Bluegrass Music Museum Film Festival.

The entire event is FREE and open to the public.
