Do you have any historic photos you'd like to share?

Marine World, now known as Six Flags and located in Vallejo, was once-upon-a-time located in Redwood Shores on the site that is now Oracle.

Thank you to Marvin Silva for posting this, and other "Lost Photos of the San Francisco Bay Area" on his Facebook page and to Jill Teer for re-posting it on the "You Know You're From Belmont When...." Facebook page.

Does anyone remember when Marine World was located in Belmont? The lagoon these women are water skiing in still exists in Redwood Shores!

Tell us your memories of Marine World in the comment section below.

And if you have any historical (or hysterical) photos you'd like to share with Belmont Patch readers, send them to the editor at joan.dentler@patch.com.

This was a favorite place for my kids to go in the early 80's. I still have the sticker taped in my garage advertising the Marine World Vallejo opening in June 1986.

Marine World was a treasure. A few years later - around 1986 - I was at my desk at he Fox & Carskadon real estate office in the Mistral complex sitting at my desk talking on the phone (that's how we did real estate in those days :-) when I heard "cluck- cluck". I turned around and ere was a chicken at the open door. --Leftover from Marine World.
