Patch reader Denise was recently comparing her current Recology bill to one she paid at the same time last year. She decided to check with some of her Belmont neighbors to find out what they are paying.
"I sent out a message to four people today about what I pay Recology," said Denise in an email.
"My message was: 'I finally have a bill in front of me. I pay 19.27 a month. What are you paying?'" Denise asked.
Here are her responses so far:
1) I pay the same. Up from 16.93 last year.
2) I pay 84.09 for three months (28.03 per month) and I have a tiny black garbage can and standard blue, green cans. Hmmm
3) Why is mine so high? I pay 31.91 and we all have the same size can.
4) It turned out they were charging me for a much larger can than I had. I am still working off the credit and its been months!
"I've sent out to another group, but based on the first replies I think people might want to check into their bill," said Denise.
