Can You Step Up to the Plate for Belmont Little League?

The league is seeking sponsors for the 2013 season.

[Editor's note: The following was submitted by Steven Keefe, sponsor coordinator for Belmont/Redwood Shores Little League.]

By Steven Keefe

Baseball is a game like no other. Baseball provides our children with life long lessons by teaching them to overcome individual failure within a positive environment.

You stand up to bat alone, yet your whole team is with you.

Strikeout 6 of 10 times, and you will be welcomed into the Hall of Fame!

Baseball teaches our children how to overcome adversity, gives them confidence and teamwork skills that will help shape them. Baseball helps children develop skills that will be useful in their everyday life and baseball will be a positive influence for the rest of their lives.

Did you know that many companies have budgets set aside to help with community service?

Ask your company’s HR department if they would sponsor our league. Sponsorship is extremely a affordable and you will make a difference in our children's lives! We need your help!

There are a few ways you can help our children and support Belmont/Redwood Shores Little League.

  • You can sponsor a team, directly benefit the team of your choice, company names are printed on the back of each child's jersey for T-ball, Farm and AA leagues.
  • You can be a banner sponsor, your company’s name and other pertinent information hang from the outfield fence at our Belmont Sports Complex.
  • You can donate money, benefitting the league as a whole. Our league has many needs and wants: more training for our kids, coaches, and umpires; a second batting cage; portable pitchers' mounds; new uniforms for our upper division teams; and more.

For more information and a sponsorship sign-up sheet, click on the PDFs to the right of this article.

All sponsorship’s include your company’s listing in the enhanced sponsor section of our league's website. Players, coaches and families utilize our site daily. You’ll receive maximum exposure.

Sponsorship opportunities:

Team or banner sponsor is $300 for returning sponsors, $350 for new sponsors.

To arrange all the sponsors placements and banners before the season starts I will need to hear from you as soon as possible.  All contributions are
tax deductible.

I hope that some day the children that benefit so much from your generosity
realize it and thank you themselves. On their behalf, I thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Steven Keefe
Sponsor Coordinator

Thanks Joan - there is one in the sub-head of the blog I posted on School-Force Voices today; wouldRead More love if it could be corrected. Been scratching my head til I saw this post :)

Sorry about that! There's nothing I can do on my end----it's system-wide bug, which I believe isRead More fixed now. :)

I also preferred the 'old' Patch - this format makes it difficult to find articles that are aren'tRead More that old. One example was the informative article on who was running for city Council. I was having problems finding it and finally had to query on a candidate's name to find. I don't recall having that issue with the original format. Also our neighborhood had a water break line and we were without water for some hours a few Sundays ago. I tried to find out the reason for the break (because of construction or old pipes?) and could not find anything on the Patch regarding this. Not sure if they just didn't report or I just couldn't find.

Not crazy about the new Patch either. Also, I want to post-for sale, and this section is crowdedRead More with announcements, etc.

Another thing that needs to be fixed: When you go to leave a comment, it takes you over to whereRead More you have to sign in, you sign in expecting to be returned to the article on which you are commenting, but it, instead, takes you back to some different article. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!! Also, please reinstate the feature where we can sign up to be notified if/when more comments are made concerning the article(s) we've commented on so we can follow the conversation. Thank you.

what do the local Belmont restaurants think of this? do these people pay a license to the city?
Joan S. Dentler (Editor) June 4, 2013 at 07:15 am
Hi Don....thanks for your question. Yes, Off the Grid does pay a licensing fee to the city, and soRead More far, we haven't heard any concerns by local restaurants. The food trucks provide an option to a traditional restaurant---pick up and go----and they are only around 4-5 hours per week (on Mondays, typically not a big restaurant night anyway). Have you tried the food yet?
