BRS Little League All-Stars 3-0 in Western Region Tourny

Bay Area Belmont Redwood Shores All-Star team is 3-0 in the Western Region Tournament winning Monday by mercy rule over Utah, 13-3.

At the bottom of the 2nd inning, Utah was ahead 1-0.

Bottom of the 3rd Noah Marcelo hit it out the park tying the score 1-1.

In the bottom of the 4th, Taylor Douglis and Luke Bugbee got on base, Daylin McLemore smashed a line drive to center for 2 RBIs then Marcelo hit to center for a Double RBI, ending the inning, 4-1.

Bats were on fire for both teams in the 5th inning, Utah score 2 runs at the top of the 5th, in the bottom of the 5th, RBIs came in from Dominic Susa, Taylor Douglis, Luke Bugbee, Marcelo, now 8-3, Brad Shimabuku up to bat with based loaded, hit to short for 2 RBIs, now 10-3, Susa smashed a line drive to center for another RBI, and Sean Lee hit to left field for a double and 2 RBIs, ending the game in a 5 inning mercy rule, 13-3.

Belmont Redwood Shores plays again Wed at 8pm against undefeated Southern California.

Bay Area residents can watch all the Belmont games live at Carlmont HS for a community viewing and fundraiser for the team or the games are streamed live on ESPN.
