Belmont Redwood Shores Little League All-Stars 2 Games Away from Little League World Series

The Belmont Redwood Shores Little League All-Stars representing Northern California battled hard tonight in the Little League Western Region Tournament against 2nd seed Southern California, winning, 3-2, with both teams advancing to the semi-finals on Friday. 

In the top of the 1st, Noah Marcelo lead off batter does what he always does and smashed a line drive to center field with SoCal strong defense turning a doubleplay to move into the bottom the1st. With Marcelo on the mound, SoCal rang up 3 hits and 2 runs to end the inning, 0-2.

The 2nd inning was 3 up-3-down for both sides. In the 3rd inning, Ryan Anderson, Daylin McLemore both hit singles and Nicolas Lopez crushed the ball to the right field fence for a triple and 2RBIs, ending the inning, 2-2.

In the top of the 4th, Dominic Susa and Sean Lee delivered line drive singles set up for power hitter Jake Stulbarg to smash a line drive to center field for the winning RBI double. Anderson relieved Marcelo on the mound and was on fire as he delivered 5 strike outs in 2 innings. In the 5th and 6th innings, there was 1 hit and no runs, ending the game with BRS holding on to number 1 seed,  3-2.

Both teams advance to play in the semi-finals on Friday. BRS will play Arizona at 6pm on Friday. The winner of that game will compete in the championship game Saturday and the winner Saturday will advance to compete in the Williamsport, PA in the Little League World Series.
