Art Soriano Joins Coaching Staff at Notre Dame Belmont

Art Soriano joined the Notre Dame Varsity Tennis team this year. Prior to coaching Notre Dame, he competed as a sponsor open player and was in the top twenty tennis players in California. Afterwards, he went on to become the assistant women's coach at Berkeley. He also played on four national USTA teams. These past two years he has been coaching with Beeyon Sison, a former Swiss national coach, grand slam player, and a French open player.

Coach Art Soriano has also worked with students before coaching at Notre Dame. "I specialize in coaching European techniques and teaching philosophy," Soriano said. He has coached at Carlmont High School and Ralston Middle School. "The highlight of coaching Carlmont was when they went to CCS," Soriano said.

For now, he is spending time coaching the Notre Dame Varsity Tennis team. "I think it's an exciting opportunity to rebuild a young team in experience. It is an exciting challenge. Compared to Carlmont, Notre Dame is more of a developed team, and I am trying to harness into raw talent at Notre Dame. My favorite part of coaching Notre Dame is the students," Soriano said.
