This was on the Next Door site, posted by the Belmont PD: PG&E crews will be inspecting theRead Moreabo ve-ground gas infrastructure throughout San Mateo County until May. As part of their gas system maintenance program, PG&E performs regular gas meter inspections to look for corrosion or rust. If they identify a meter with corrosion or rust they will repair and/or replace the meters as necessary. They expect to be in the Belmont area the last week of February through the first half of March. The inspections will occur Monday through Saturday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. PG&E will schedule by appointment with the customer if the meter is inaccessible at the time of our inspection. PG&E employees and contractors will be on foot with hand held equipment to conduct these inspections. They will be in safety gear and carry photo identification, which they will be happy to present upon request. The will also be driving trucks with PG&E logos on them. Concerned customers can verify their presence by calling the customer service line at 1-800-PGE-5000 or if you are suspicious or uncomfortable, you can always call Belmont PD and we'll check the individual.
