Belmont Response Team Participates in Emergency Drill

The Belmont-San Carlos Community Emergency Response Team is participating in the countywide drill this morning.

Members of the Belmont-San Carlos Community Emergency Response Team will go door-to-door in Belmont's Central and Sterling Downs neighborhoods this morning to educate residents on disaster preparedness.

Between 9 a.m. and noon, the CERT members will distribute kitchen fire safety information, as well as simulate the distribution of medicine and medical supplies from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Strategic National Stockpile.

The distribution is part of the San Mateo County Health System's "Silver Dragon V" emergency drill. In the event of a major health emergency, the medicine and supplies would be distributed through the San Mateo County Health System.
